      ABOUT THE ARTISANS

      This toy was hand knit in a fair trade women’s cooperative in Nepal.  The artisans are not only paid excellent wages, but are given a retirement fund, medical stipends and allowances to keep their children in school.  They are expert knitters and produce only high quality items.
