HOW TO CHOOSE THE MATERIAL FOR YOUR SWIM CAP?
MESH: Made from a fabric similar to swimsuits, it slips on easily without pulling your hair. A finishing seam goes around the head to ensure support. COATED MESH: A variation of the mesh cap, it is also comfortable. It is covered with a layer of silicone that reduces water entry and limits its elasticity to support it. SILICONE: Less comfortable but very elastic, it provides excellent support and limits water entry the most.
ARE THERE OTHER TYPES OF SWIM CAPS?
There are several alternatives to standard swimming caps to suit everyone’s needs: – blow-dry caps: made of mesh, they are very stretchy. – waffle cap: made of latex, it slips on without pulling the hair. – volume or extra volume caps: silicone caps, their shapes leave more space for thick hair. – molded or shell caps: made of silicone, these are the caps for competitors. – neoprene caps: perfect for open water swimming.
HOW TO CHOOSE YOUR SWIM CAP SIZE?
S, M, L, One Size… How to find your way around? The choice is quite simple: fabric and coated mesh caps have sizes (S, M, L) while silicone caps are designed in one size because they are very stretchy. To help you find your way around, here is a little guide based on your head size: – XS: 50-52 cm. (available in the baby section) – S: 53-56 cm. – M: 56-59 cm. – L: 59-62 cm. – One Size: from 53 to 62 cm.
HOW TO PUT ON YOUR SWIMMING CAP?
Did you know? Swim caps have a direction! Mesh caps have a central band designed to run from front to back. For silicone swim caps, the crease line (visible when the cap is lying flat) is designed to run in the same direction as the previous ones. Then place both hands together inside the cap. Spread your hands (and fingers) apart to create space, then put the cap on. At the front, it should reach about a fingertip above your eyebrows.
WHY SHOULD YOU WEAR A SWIMMING CAP?
The challenge is twofold. First, wearing a cap is a sign of respect for the place you’re visiting. By keeping your hair in place, it helps protect the quality of the water and equipment, ensuring a certain level of hygiene in the pool or body of water. Second, you’re also wearing it for yourself! The cap protects your hair from the harsh effects of water, chlorine (or other treatments), and salt (or other pollutants).
Tired of having crushed hair? A mesh swimming cap, stretchy with gathers that provide great volume and are chlorine resistant, essential and chic.
